Dr. Shilpa Pandit
Shilpa Pandit is academically trained as a psychologist and is a student of life. Currently, she teaches psychology at Ahmedabad University. Prior to that, she has been involved in teaching, research and social action over the last 25 years. She is interested in Rasa, music, dance, emotions as well as states of well-being. She has worked within the domain of leadership, creativity and well-being, in social contexts. She has authored three books. Her second book titled "Decolonising Consciousness: Reclaiming the Indian Psychology of Well-being" focuses on the Indic consciousness-based view of well-being. The first book is a textbook on psychology that attempts to bring in Indian psychological frameworks in the introduction to psychology itself: "An Introduction to Psychology: Global Outlook, Indian Perspectives." In line with the idea that decolonisation is a multi-decade knowledge project, she has recently published a book on social psychology and selected laws in India, particularly focusing on mental health. She is also currently working on a book manuscript on Bhakti as the embodied and integral Indian psychology.
